Sasha Kaidanovsky WIP 1 - Pacific Rim by Scarlet-Impaler
Sasha Kaidanovsky WIP 1 - Pacific Rim

Most of Sasha and Aleksis Kaidanovsky's costumes are fairly simple, sans the emblems on the back of the coats. So here is a WIP of the double headed eagle emblem that Sasha has.

Wasn't going to give it the safety pin art treatment the screen used ones got, but I'm still making it detailed and get that elevation going with the designs.

Next up is to give it the gold treatment!

Wig is in! So, sans a red headband, all finished for now!!

Sorry... in between shaving cycles at the moment.

Alice Margatroid WIP 2 by Scarlet-Impaler
Alice Margatroid WIP 2

Finished the scarf and sash, and completely redid the capelet. I'm really liking the way it came out this time. For the most part, everything is nice and even.

With that said, the wig is stateside, so it should be a matter of a day or so before it arrives.

Alice Margatroid cosplay WIP by Scarlet-Impaler
Alice Margatroid cosplay WIP

This year's low budget Halloween cosplay, Alice Margatroid from Touhou Project.

(sorry for the lighting in the pic, the fabric is definitely blue).

Decided to go for a standard style Alice for now. i'll build on it later. Like how I did my original Link cosplay.

Oh, outside of the kilt I'll be wearing underneath, this is full crossplay. Not going into anything crazy like doing make up, fake hips and such.

So far, I finished the skirt, and the vest and capelet set up.

I failed at the capelet thing. Never try to use a scaled down circle skirt for a capelet. I did try my best to salvage the situation. It turned out well enough.

Still trying to figure out what happened to my short sleeve button up shirt...

For the base cosplay, just need the wig, headband, and make the scarf and sash.

UPDATE: Finished the sash and scarf. Just need the wig to come in and nab a headband.

Anime NEXT came to pass and things haven't really been going. As we are still getting our feet planted here in MD, I'm still on the prowl for a job and such.

I haven't really been working on anything, but that is going to change soon. Especially with Halloween and Shatterdome Con rolling around here soon.

Speaking of which, that is our next con. My only planned cosplay, so far, is Aleksis Kaidanovsky, while my wife is planning on going as Mako and Chuck. Might throw in another cosplay, but I really don't have another choice character to go as from Pacific Rim. At least, until I'm ready to go ahead and start making Jaeger and Kaiju cosplays. Then it is freaking Godzilla time!

Finally started to get into the swing of airsofting on somewhat of a normal basis. Checking out the fields out here, going to try to head up to Jersey to see what they have going on. We had our first WWII Scenario game in upstate NY, it was awesome as hell. We were planning on heading to this year's Fulda Gap scenario, but they don't cater to reenactors, despite being a Cold War era event. Rather, I should say they did in previous years, but then some players were raising hell, complaining that the Warsaw Pact side shouldn't be allowed to wear the camouflage uniforms that they historically wore... And since that forces one side to wear nothing but desert shades of tan, in a woodland environment, it was also extremely one sided. So, screw that entirely.

We have a team that we building up, being centered around WWII impressions. I'm trying to craft up some WWII appropriate rifles, but my last two tries failed. I am getting better at it, and hopefully I'll have good weapons to back up our good impressions for the next big WWII game in January.

Cosplay wise, up next I'll be finally working on Sgt Rex Colt from Blood Dragon this week, and probably a vanilla Touhou cosplay for airsofting the weekend of Halloween. Outside of Shatterdome Con, I don't really know whats next, con wise. Hopefully its going to be Katsucon! I haven't been there since it switched to its new venue.

Fall is here it is a true breath of fresh air. Haven't felt this since I left over 5 years ago. This winter is supposed to be colder than usually. Can't wait.

Until next time!

Welcome to my page!

This is where I post all my art. Though it is mainly Cosplay and Prop making, and with some photography. Been going to cons and cosplaying since 2005. Won multiple awards. Most notable, a masquerade award at Anime NEXT 2007 with a Metal Gear group, and Best Male Villain at Anime Comic Con 2011.

Other main hobby is gaming. I've been doing so back when Duke Nukem was 2d.

I also airsoft, which I combine with Era Reenactment. Trying out different loadouts and field uniforms and gear from different wars and countries. Right now I have a WWII US Army Soldier and a Soviet soldier (Russian-Afghan War).

I'm currently enlisted in the USMC, with my contract ending soon. Going to leave it at that.
