Anime NEXT came to pass and things haven't really been going. As we are still getting our feet planted here in MD, I'm still on the prowl for a job and such.
I haven't really been working on anything, but that is going to change soon. Especially with Halloween and Shatterdome Con rolling around here soon.
Speaking of which, that is our next con. My only planned cosplay, so far, is Aleksis Kaidanovsky, while my wife is planning on going as Mako and Chuck. Might throw in another cosplay, but I really don't have another choice character to go as from Pacific Rim. At least, until I'm ready to go ahead and start making Jaeger and Kaiju cosplays. Then it is freaking Godzilla time!
Finally started to get into the swing of airsofting on somewhat of a normal basis. Checking out the fields out here, going to try to head up to Jersey to see what they have going on. We had our first WWII Scenario game in upstate NY, it was awesome as hell. We were planning on heading to this year's Fulda Gap scenario, but they don't cater to reenactors, despite being a Cold War era event. Rather, I should say they did in previous years, but then some players were raising hell, complaining that the Warsaw Pact side shouldn't be allowed to wear the camouflage uniforms that they historically wore... And since that forces one side to wear nothing but desert shades of tan, in a woodland environment, it was also extremely one sided. So, screw that entirely.
We have a team that we building up, being centered around WWII impressions. I'm trying to craft up some WWII appropriate rifles, but my last two tries failed. I am getting better at it, and hopefully I'll have good weapons to back up our good impressions for the next big WWII game in January.
Cosplay wise, up next I'll be finally working on Sgt Rex Colt from Blood Dragon this week, and probably a vanilla Touhou cosplay for airsofting the weekend of Halloween. Outside of Shatterdome Con, I don't really know whats next, con wise. Hopefully its going to be Katsucon! I haven't been there since it switched to its new venue.
Fall is here it is a true breath of fresh air. Haven't felt this since I left over 5 years ago. This winter is supposed to be colder than usually. Can't wait.
Until next time!
