Description

Naked Snake's Custom 1911 from Metal Gear Solid 3.

Thanks to reference images from :iconbigboss-bigneko:, I was able to get some of the more details in. The wider hole in the hammer, the holes in the trigger, the shaved down wooden grips, front end slide serrations (which I failed pretty good at...), and how the gun is colored properly. Rather, at least were the different colors end. Like a lot of other reference images for costume or props, actual colors and designs like to change from image to image. This was also the case here, so I had to go with what I felt was right for the job. In this case, I used Citadel Boltgun Metal to paint the grey-ish and shiny-er areas of the gun.

Also, I finished off the gloves. They are a pair of USMC surplus (but still issued today) leather shooting glove shells. Cut off the proper tips and then sewn them up. I went a little further and added in the sweat holes in Snake's gloves. I accomplished this with my Grommet Pliers.

Not shown: I have been upgrading different parts of my entire Naked Snake cosplay. While, this is technically my oldest and greatest cosplay, I can keep on improving on it. They are small improvements not really worth mentioning, but it just proves to show that Cosplays are never truly finished, always WIP.

man! back in the day they came looking like this from the toy store, we thought it was major when they started putting a bright orange plug in the guns like the one in your pic. nowa-days they make the whole damn thing bright orange.

...nice job!
